Your Giving Day Guide
The new Giving Day website allows you to search hundreds of UMD fund names by keyword, though not every fund is included in Giving Day. If you don’t have a specific fund in mind, want to maximize matching dollars or need help finding an area to give, the following guide will help you.
Participating campus units will have a list of associated funds and priorities on their unit page. Here are links to all Giving Day units:
Double your impact!
Giving Day hosts many matching gift opportunities that increase the power of your donation. Search the Matches and Challenges page for unit-specific options. Or consider the Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise or Clarvit Family matches.
Clarvit Family matches boost giving from students, recent graduates (2015-2019) and first-time alumni donors. The Clarvit Family is also matching donations to the UMD Student Crisis Fund, Keep Me Maryland and Student Emergency Success Fund. Gifts to these funds will be matched dollar for dollar up to a combined total of $25,000. First come first served.
If you don’t have a specific fund in mind for your Giving Day contribution, you may wish to select one of these options when making your gift:
Can’t find the fund you want?
Not all funds are listed on the Giving Day website. If you are having difficulty locating a specific fund, follow these instructions:
● Type Unlisted UMD in the search bar
● Click the Unlisted - UMD option
● Then click Donate
● Enter the amount of your gift and your name
● In the "Add specific fund information" field, please type in the specific fund or campus area that you would like to support
● Add another gift, or click Next to enter your payment information
1 In limited cases, the site may display duplicate fund name results. Selecting either result will allow you to make a gift to that fund.
2 Unfortunately, gifts made to the Unlisted - UMD option will not count toward leaderboard or prize competitions, nor matches or challenges, but they will count toward the overall Giving Day totals.
